The vehicle can be returned to our location in Welshpool, WA unless otherwise agreed. You will need to contact us 21-days prior to returning the vehicle to book a time. The vehicle needs to be returned in a tidy condition and with a full tank of fuel, otherwise, a cleaning charge of $250 and refuelling costs of $3.50 per litre apply.

We have a premises in Welshpool, WA where you can collect your vehicle during our business hours (9am – 5pm Monday to Friday), or after hours if specific arrangements with a team member have been made. You’ll need to bring your driver’s licence to confirm your identity.

Only nominated drivers can drive your SwitchCar. If you’d like to add more drivers to your subscription it’s just $10/week per driver as long as they meet the eligibility criteria. To be eligible for a SwitchCar, all drivers must:

  • Hold a valid Australian (P2 or above) or equivalent international driver’s license that has not been cancelled or suspended in the past 3 years.
  • Be at least 21 years old and not over 75 years old.
  • Have at least 12 months of driving experience.
  • Not use any subscription vehicle for operating a rideshare service.
  • Not have had any criminal, drink or drug driving convictions in the last 5 years.
  • Not have made two or more motor insurance claims in the last 3 years.

Additional individual criteria may apply.

There are no lock-in long-term contracts and you can cancel at any time after the minimum term. We just need 21 days notice of cancellation and return. Please note that if you return your car before the minimum subscription term you’ll still need to pay the minimum term of subscription fees.

We charge a $750 refundable deposit when you start your subscription. It must be paid by card, which has a small surcharge—but don’t worry, we cover that fee when we return your deposit at the end.

You can pay via direct debit (no surcharge) or by credit/debit card (2% surcharge applies). All initial deposits must be made using a card, but don’t worry—we cover the surcharge when we return your deposit at the end of your subscription.

Your subscription includes comprehensive insurance, covering damage to your vehicle and third-party property. In the event of an accident, a $2,000 excess is required immediately. If you’re not at fault, and the third party’s insurer accepts liability, we’ll return the full $2,000 once the claim is approved.
If the damage is under the excess, we’ll obtain a formal repair quote and deduct only the repair cost from your $2,000—returning the remaining balance to you. No matter the situation, our team will guide you through the process and help get you back on the road quickly.

Each subscription includes a set number of kilometres that reset every billing cycle. If you go over your allowance, you’ll be charged either 10¢ or 30¢ per extra kilometre—depending on your selected plan. This will be added to your next bill. Need more flexibility? Talk to our team about adding an extra kilometre package to better suit your driving needs.

Yes, you can pause your subscription for up to 3 weeks. This pause period will be added to the end of your minimum term. During the pause, the car must be returned to Switch Cars, clean and with a full tank of fuel. Just let us know in advance, and we’ll help arrange everything.
