What to do if you’re in an accident or need to make a claim

1. Report Incident

Report the incident to SwitchCars via email, within 24 hours.

Take photos of any damage, the surrounding area, and third-party vehicles – you’ll submit these with the claim form.
Exchange details with the third party (you will need their contact, licence and insurance details) and collect witness information if possible.
Call SwitchCars to organise moving the vehicle to a secure location – do NOT leave your vehicle unattended until a tow or salvage arrives.
Complete the form below for your claim, using the photos and details you collected from the scene.

If you get stuck or aren’t sure what to do, give us a call. Our team can guide you through the process.

Important: Report the incident to police if someone was injured, if the other party fled or was intoxicated, or if your vehicle was stolen. You must cooperate in any legal case or insurance process that follows.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a car subscription service?

Flexibility: Unlike the traditional car-buying or leasing process, a car subscription service offers the flexibility to choose the duration, make, and model of the car. Our car subscription service is there to fulfil your specific requirements.

Convenience: From insurance to servicing, we take care of all your car-related hassles, so you can focus on enjoying the drive.

Affordability: Without big upfront costs or hidden fees, a car subscription service offers a more affordable and predictable way to have a car at your disposal.

Only nominated drivers can drive your SwitchCar. If you’d like to add more drivers to your subscription it’s just $10/week per driver as long as they meet the eligibility criteria. To be eligible for a SwitchCar, all drivers must: Hold a valid Australian (P2 or above) or equivalent international driver’s license that has not been cancelled or suspended in the past 3 years. | Be at least 21 years old and not over 75 years old. | Have at least 12 months of driving experience. | Not use any subscription vehicle for operating a rideshare service. | Not have had any criminal, drink or drug driving convictions in the last 5 years. | Not have made two or more motor insurance claims in the last 3 years. Additional individual criteria may apply.

Your subscription includes comprehensive insurance, covering damage to your vehicle and third-party property. In the event of an accident, a $2,000 excess is required immediately. If you’re not at fault, and the third party’s insurer accepts liability, we’ll return the full $2,000 once the claim is approved.
If the damage is under the excess, we’ll obtain a formal repair quote and deduct only the repair cost from your $2,000—returning the remaining balance to you. No matter the situation, our team will guide you through the process and help get you back on the road quickly. More details on insurance here.
